How to benefit yourself from your interior design and inner psychology peace with fine art photography
When it comes to the use of photography over any other art expression, the reality sense that brings this media to the table is irrefutable, to the point that what goes through our minds while admiring a photograph can get as real as the artwork itself; touching emotions such as happiness, melancholy, or love.
Since the effect of hanging a fine art photograph is so amazingly strong, the fun task begins at the time to decide what to hang and on what wall!
1- Make a room looks brighter
There are rooms where sometimes by simply hanging the right photograph will light up that wall, and by doing that, the room suddenly becomes brighter and with that effect, our sense of wanting to be there, grows.... been there, done that!
Even in the case that let's say you are leasing a house that landlord wouldn't agree with you on repaint a certain wall with a brighter color, try this. Place a nice fine art photograph on white mat and white frame, you will see the difference right away. Blue beach scenes, soft yellow sand, and sunshine are ideal in these cases
2- Turn a busy interior design scheme into a very stimulating space
If you are like a couple of friends and collectors I have, this one is for you!
The interior decoration translate into a very crowdy junction of elements to the point that only make sense when certain factors are given; one of them...the art hanging on the walls define and separate the spaces.
How to achieve it? The answer is, with a pop of color photography!
The last thing you want to hang on a busy room is an abstract pastel color or black and white painting element that will create even more confusion into the head of whoever is in the room. In this case you need something realistic looking, big and colorful enough to take the viewer's eyes there and make them focus while separating that space to the others. Usually applies when dining rooms are very close to the living room, also in kitchens with a dinner table, or in a bar area close to a living room.
3- Use of photography to make a moment remarkable
Think of a part in your house, apartment, or office where you talk a lot to your guests, usually is at the dinner table, a florida room, a balcony, or terrace...you got it? Ok, now, this is the perfect place to put a conversational Miami photography artwork. This is the piece that everybody will look at and say...WOW, tell me more about it! and you will giggle while saying "Oh yes, I have stories to tell you about Miami" trust me, people will remember your stories due to the association with the photo artwork.
It is extremely rare that photos taken by yourself in the middle of a vacation can accomplish the effect of "Wowness" that you want to cause on your guests, usually your brain is focused on activities others than creating the perfect image or couldn't remember all the aesthetic rules and techniques of achieving a great photograph so that is when a visual artists focused on photography comes in. Plus chances are that even if you choose to hang a photo taken by you, it wouln't go up in value. which is why art collecting and interior design have always been BFF
4- Add a touch of contemporary feeling to your interior design
Is your interior design not as minimalistic or modern as you would like it to be? or maybe you do like the classic furniture but want just a touch of contemporary art? Does you boss doesn't allow you to change the office's last century ugly furniture? Achieve all these little huge changes with photography!
Hollywood set designers have been using this technique for years. By simply glancing at the space and taking mental note of the 3 dominant colors in the decor is enough, while browsing which on the Miami art photos you want to hang, keep those colors in mind. Easy right?
5- Use photography to bring calm to an action room
This is typically the space at home where the kids throw pillows, misbehave, and drives me nuts! Do you have one of those?
Just find the closes wall and take a look at what it is on it now? Nothing? or something that is not bringing you serenity, tranquility, and calm? Let's change that. Please pick from my abstract seascapes photography collection to bring the Zen back to where it belongs, a fine art photograph that encourage meditation and inner peace like these ones will work perfect in there.
So while I can give you some tips on how to enhance your decor and feel better while living with it, you are the the judge and jury on what you hang and there is something magical that occurs in the process of acquiring an artwork to collect (but that is a topic for another day) Fine art photography is so amazingly powerful that once the artwork finds its own place can start to communicate with its collector in mysterious ways that are only reveled when the equilibrium between collector and art is finally achieved.
